Guess who is coming to dinner this week?
We are hosting hundreds of hungry cedar waxwings, who drop in daily to gorge themselves on our all-you-can-eat holly berry buffet. They come in groups of thirty or so at a time, inviting others to join the feast with their high-pitched calls of delight.
Their silky feathers, elegant crests and exotic black masks remind us of Japanese Kabuki characters, offering dinner theater performances in our front yard daily.
